This adventure is a full-day experience of hiking, swimming and paddling in two of the most visited natural wonders in Puerto Rico: El Yunque National Rainforest and the Bioluminescent Bay in Laguna Grande, Fajardo. You’ll also have the time to relax on the beautiful beach of Luquillo and enjoy the savory local cuisine the Kiosks offer.

- Go Night Kayaking in the Laguna Grande Reserve: Paddle through the mangrove forest, watch the sunset or moonrise and have the chance to experience the glow of bioluminescent water.
Itinerary:
- Pick-up is between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. approximate from the San Juan area.
- Rainforest tour from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. approx.
- Lunch time at Luquillo Kiosks from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Bio Bay night kayaking from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Return to hotel before 10 p.m.

- What is the minimum age to participate in the kayaking tour? Participants must be at least 7 years old to join the tour.
- Is the tour suitable for pregnant women? NO, the tour is not recommended for pregnant women due to safety reasons.
- How long does the Night Kayaking tour last? The tour typically lasts around 2 hours, allowing participants to enjoy the bioluminescent experience.
- Is there a maximum weight limit for participants? Yes, the maximum weight limit per person is 250 pounds.
- Do I need to know how to swim? Participants must be able to swim on their own in the rare case of capsizing. The tour does not have any lifeguards.
- Should I expect to get wet during the tour? Yes, participants should come prepared to get wet from their waist down. Lightweight, synthetic clothing or a swimsuit is recommended.
- Can I walk barefoot on the beach or river? For safety reasons, please do not walk barefoot on the beach.
- Should I bring valuables on the tour? NO, It’s advisable not to bring any valuables you don’t want to get wet, lose, or damage during the tour.
- Are there any restrictions regarding alcohol or drugs? Anyone visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate and will still be charged.
- Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes, participants are required to sign a waiver before the tour begins.
- What type of kayaks are used? The tour uses two-person double kayaks for a shared paddling experience. Groups with an odd number of participants will pair up with someone from another group to accommodate the uneven numbers.
- What affects the bioluminescent intensity? Weather, the intensity of bioluminescence depends on natural factors such as rain, tide, moon phase, sunlight, and other elements not under our control. We do not modify images using software.
- What’s the cancellation policy?
To reserve a space, a credit card number is required. All cancellations are subject to a $10 per person cancellation fee. For a full refund (less the $10 per person cancellation fee), a cancellation notice 24 hours prior to the activities must be given by the participant for them to be eligible to it – otherwise, their credit card will be charged full price. Peniel Access Eco Tours can cancel activities due to extreme weather conditions or any warnings from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the U.S. Coast Guard and local weather authorities. A full refund will be given to all participants if we cancel for safety reasons. - Do you still operate even if it’s raining?
If there will be heavy rain throughout the day, we may offer you the option of rescheduling or canceling without being charged but know that we still operate. If there are thunderstorms, we might not operate and chose to cancel the activities but you should not assume so. It is common in Puerto Rico for thunderstorms to move away quickly and will only cause for a short delay in our departure times. If a thunderstorm rolled in while performing the activities, the activities might be cut short. - I have other questions not answered in this FAQ what shall I do?

- Lightweight, synthetic clothing or a swimsuit is best recommended for the activities. Avoid wearing jeans or sweats. Hiking boots or slip-resistant sneakers are a must for El Yunque National Rainforest.
- It is recommended you bring towels and changes of clothing for your convenience.
- Participants must know how to swim on their own in the rare case of capsizing at the Night Kayaking Tour.
- The Trio Tour operates even if it rains. In the case of extreme weather events or any warnings by the local weather authorities or the U.S. Coast Guard, the Tour will be cancelled and participants be notified.
- Anyone who is visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate and will still be charged.
- Not wheelchair accessible
