The Bio Bay has microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates that produce a glowing effect when they are stirred by our paddles. Kayaking in Laguna Grande Reserve at night is a must-do activity you don’t want to miss!
Our Adaptive Paddling Program provides ample opportunity for creativity for anyone who would like to try kayaking for the first time. Come prepared to get wet from your waist down. Lightweight, synthetic clothing or a swimsuit is the best. Do not walk bare foot on the beach for safety reasons. - What to bring?
Change of clothes, towel and mosquito repellent (just in case!). You can bring cameras only with water proof bag or water proof case. - What not to bring or wear?
We suggest that you try to avoid wearing jeans or sweats. Don’t bring any valuables you don’t want to get wet, lose or damage. - Storage available?
In case you want to leave any article, you can leave it at the registration table. Anything you bring on the water has the potential to get wet, damage or lost. - What’s the cancellation policy?
To reserve a space, a credit card number is required. All cancellations are subject to a $10 per person cancellation fee. We require a 24 hour cancellation notice to be eligible for a full refund less $ 10 per person cancellation fee, otherwise your credit card will be charged. PR Access Tours cancels due to unsafe weather conditions or any recommendation from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA. A full refund will be given if we cancel for safety reasons. - Do you still take out trips if it is raining?
If it is a heavy rain we may offer you the option of rescheduling or canceling without being charged. If there is lightning close by we will cancel the trip but you should always assume the trip is going out and show up for your trip unless we have said otherwise. The rain and/or lightning may be moving away quickly and may only make for a short delay in our departure time even if it looks bad at the moment. - What is the minimum age to participate in the kayaking tour? Participants must be at least 7 years old to join the tour.
- Is the tour suitable for pregnant women? NO, the tour is not recommended for pregnant women due to safety reasons.
- How long does the Night Kayaking tour last? The tour typically lasts around 2 hours, allowing participants to enjoy the bioluminescent experience.
- Is there a maximum weight limit for participants? Yes, the maximum weight limit per person is 250 pounds.
- Do I need to know how to swim? Participants must be able to swim on their own in the rare case of capsizing. The tour does not have any lifeguards.
- Is parking available? Free parking is available but limited, so it’s advisable to arrive early.
- Should I expect to get wet during the tour? Yes, participants should come prepared to get wet from their waist down. Lightweight, synthetic clothing or a swimsuit is recommended.
- Can I walk barefoot on the beach? For safety reasons, please do not walk barefoot on the beach.
- Should I bring valuables on the tour? NO, It’s advisable not to bring any valuables you don’t want to get wet, lose, or damage during the tour.
- Are there any restrictions regarding alcohol or drugs? Anyone visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate and will still be charged.
- Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes, participants are required to sign a waiver before the tour begins.
- What type of kayaks are used? The tour uses two-person double kayaks for a shared paddling experience. Groups with an odd number of participants will pair up with someone from another group to accommodate the uneven numbers.
- What affects the bioluminescent intensity? Weather, the intensity of bioluminescence depends on natural factors such as rain, tide, moon phase, sunlight, and other elements not under our control. We do not modify images using software.

- Age and Accompaniment: Participants must be at least 7 years old, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Weight Limit: Participants must weigh below 250 lbs. to ensure their safety and the stability of the kayak.
- Comprehension and Independence: Participants should be able to comprehend and follow verbal and/or visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
- Physical Ability: Participants must be able to remain balanced, seated, and hold their head upright without neck/head support for 2 hours in a touring kayak.
- Personal Care: Participants should be capable of managing all personal care independently or with the assistance of a friend or family member.
- Mobility: Participants must be able to manage personal mobility independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance.
- Water Skills: Participants should be able to independently turn from face-down to face-up and remain floating face up while wearing a properly fitted life jacket. In the event of a capsize, they should be able to get out from under a capsized kayak independently and re-enter the kayak with the assistance of one other boat and their paddling partner.
- Water Comfort: Participants must be comfortable in the water, including floating on their back independently with a properly fitted Personal Flotation Device (PFD), turning from facedown to face up independently while wearing a properly fitted PFD, and holding their breath while underwater.
- Endurance: Participants should be able to go kayaking for more than 3 miles independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance.
These criteria ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants during kayaking activities.

Release of Liability, Express Assumption of Risk, and Participant Agreement
Please Read Carefully Before SigningIMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a legally binding agreement. By signing, you waive your right to pursue legal action for any injury, property damage, or death—regardless of the cause, including negligence—arising from your participation in activities provided by Peniel Alphas Corp, Peniel Access Eco Tours, accesstourspr.com, PR Access Tours LLC, now or in the future. Activities covered include rainforest hiking, river hiking, canoeing, kayaking, night kayaking, transportation, and other services offered by the company.
IN CONSIDERATION of being allowed to participate in activities offered by Peniel Alphas Corp, I, on behalf of myself, my representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, agree to the following:
- Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that activities such as paddle sports, hiking, and night kayaking come with inherent risks, including physical or emotional injury, paralysis, or harm to others. I voluntarily assume these risks, understanding that they cannot be eliminated without altering the nature of the activities. I agree to comply with all terms, conditions, and safety instructions provided.
- Release of Liability and Indemnification: I, the undersigned, hereby release and discharge Peniel Alphas Corp, its affiliates, partners, and all individuals involved in these activities (collectively, “Releasees”) from any claims, demands, losses, or damages, including those caused by negligence. I agree to indemnify and hold the Releasees harmless from any expenses or liabilities incurred as a result of any claims made against them.
- Safety Protocol Compliance: I understand that wearing a personal flotation device is required for sea kayaking, and I have been briefed on equipment use, self-rescue procedures, and ocean conditions such as tides and weather. I agree to follow all safety instructions and ask questions if needed.
- Responsibility to Report Hazards: I agree to remove myself from participation and notify the nearest guide if I observe any significant hazards or feel unsafe during the activities.
- Legal Fees and Jurisdiction: In the event of any legal disputes arising from this agreement, I agree to cover all attorney fees and court costs incurred by Peniel Alphas Corp. The jurisdiction for any legal matters will be in Puerto Rico.
- Limitation of Liability: I release Peniel Alphas Corp from liability for any consequential, incidental, or indirect damage arising from participation in activities, even if advised of such risks. I agree to indemnify and defend Peniel Alphas Corp and its representatives against any claims, costs, or damages.
- Health and Communicable Disease Waiver: I understand the risks of exposure to infectious diseases, including MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. I assume these risks, even those arising from the negligence of the Releasees. I agree to follow all health guidelines and promptly report any related concerns.
- Health Disclosure: I will inform Peniel Alphas Corp in writing if I have any health conditions that could affect my safety or require emergency care during the activities. This notification will be provided at the time of the reservation and before the start of the tour.
- Media Consent: By signing, I grant Peniel Alphas Corp the right to use my name, image, voice, and statements for promotional purposes in various media formats, including photos, videos, and audio recordings.
- Parental Consent for Minors: As a parent or legal guardian, I affirm that my child/ward is in good health and physically capable of participating in these activities. I have explained the risks to my child/ward and consent to their participation. I also agree to indemnify the Releasees for any claims arising from my child’s participation.
- Nature Disclaimer: The bioluminescent experience is subject to natural conditions like rain, tides, and moon phases. Peniel Alphas Corp does not guarantee the level of bioluminescence but offers a night kayaking experience in the Laguna Grande Bio Bay.
- Acknowledgment of Risks: I fully understand and accept that outdoor activities may involve risks, including damage to personal property, serious injury, or death. These risks may result from my actions, the actions of others, or conditions beyond the control of the Releasees. I accept full responsibility for any loss, injury, or damage resulting from my participation.
- Swimming Requirement: I acknowledge that the ability to swim is a prerequisite for participating in water-based activities like kayaking.
By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to the terms of this release and waiver, fully aware of the rights I am giving up.
